European Agroforestry Federation zoekt oprichtende leden

Op 16 december werd in Parijs de EURopean Agroforestry Federation (EURAF) opgericht.  Het hoofddoel van de federatie is om de ingang van agroforestrypraktijken in heel Europa te promoten. Het potentieel van agroforestry op vlak van productiviteit, milieu, klimaat, bodem en water wordt breed erkend. Maar actieve promotie van agroforestry is meer dan ooit nodig. Word mede-oprichter tot eind januari.

Na een ontmoeting en uitwisseling tussen de Europese agroforestry-actoren, op initiatief van de Franse agroforestry vereniging (Association Francaise de l’ Agroforesterie, AFAF), werd na 30 jaar Europees agroforestry-werk in Europa, de EURAF opgericht.

Uit de ontwerp-statuten:

EURAF’s object is to promote the adoption of agroforestry practices throughout Europe. Agroforestry practices include all designs of trees mixed with crops and/or animals, both inside the limits or on the boundaries of the land parcels, as in silvoarable, silvopastoral and agrosilvopastoral systems.

Tot eind januari kunnen ook Belgische actoren (individuele personen, instellingen, verenigingen) zich aansluiten als “oprichtend lid”, na aanvaarding van de statuten en betaling van de bijdrage.
